VLD detected no leaks in the Mixed code(native+managed)

Jul 9, 2012 at 11:22 PM

I have a Windows Forms project, which is a mixture of Managed code (related to the Form) and our usual unmanaged code( from other independent C++ files in the project).

I followed the procedure to let VLD detect the memory leaks and then introduced a 'malloc()' without a free in a C++ file.

But VLD could not detect that memory leak. The same leak could be detected in a sample WIn32  console project I had created.

Does VLD not work with such mixed code scenarios, or am I missing something?

[Note: VLD is correctly integrated for this project since it spews out 'No memory leaks detected' at the end of execution]
